Time to say farewell to these pretty little lairs

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Now for my review which it's taken quite a while do since I was busy today after most of all the anime aired.

4-nin wa Sorezore Uso wo Tsuku (Four People and Their Respective Lies)
Genre: Comedy, Shounen, Slice of Life
Studio: Flad
Personal thoughts:
This anime is basically an overused concept of cute girls/guys with random things put in which at random to make this series, there's esper's, ninjas, and ofc the use of a trap (one gender crossdressing as a other gender.) This has Asobi Asobase aspects but also to me also has that meme*age slapstick comedy of Pop Team Epic. Also someone pointed out that this has Saiki Kusuo no Ξ¨ Nan (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K) elements as well, which I do see it (thx you Golb89)...
This is quite a ride of a comedy though but it is lackluster and only hits well with certain parties and ofc there is better but even though it has too much overused ideas that does major BS a-ss pulls it's still a fun watch.
9/10 rating

Final notes: This one is treasure to me and considered it one of the best watches.

I agree with your Fucking Final note.

Damn Chiyo, she really needed some sort of an IQ boost, but I think Rikka overdid it a bit. I would say I prefer the ordinary Chiyo, but damn, not being able to do basic multiplications is a bit...
Honestly, Rikka reminiscing about what they have done together made me quite emotional. And then I almost started crying when she decided to stay, but ofc that pepipopo thing had to ruin the moment. That ending left too many things open, this should have at least one more episode, but... well, I'm glad that Rikka at least stayed on Earth.

I randomly picked this up, and I'm quite glad I did. The premise of this anime was pretty crazy, but it got even crazier when I watched it - and I loved it. This anime was just stupidly funny. I mean, how even did the author come up with the idea of creating a story about a psychic, a kunoichi, an alien, and a boy - each of them hiding their real self? It was so absurd, but I laughed so much. Also - how the hell did the author come up with the idea of Sekine getting fat after using her real powers (I guess it's just a rhetorical question)?

I'm going to miss the daily life of these crazy little liars. It was nice witnessing all of their shenanigans while having my brain turned off. I'd like to watch more.
I can literally rate it 8/10

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

It's cross with Asobi Asobase & Pop Team Epic

Golb89 • 1 year ago

You forgot "Saiki Kusuo".

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Didn't think of that one lolz

Satoshi Ookami • 1 year ago

Oof, Taisa wanted to boost Chiyo's IQ a bit and it backfired quite a lot.
Now that's a way I didn't expect the lies to be revealed.

LMAO TAISAAAAAAAAA :D

OOOOOOOOOOOOOF Chiyo's study 'power'

Wait, Taisa doesn't call Sekine -jou, just -san?

HANZO HELP?!

Now suddenly Sekine-jou again, lul.

Wuuut, Taisa reset time.
Now they don't know shit again :/

This was so goddamn random animu :D
But I had fun, even it was random as heck :D

What?! Why only 11 episodes? I absolutely enjoyed this show, it's a riot all the way to the end! The characters are fun and none of them pissed me off. 9/10

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

because the 12th episode was a lie

So at the end when the lies all revealed πŸ—Ώ rikka just choose to undo back the time with katsu and brainwash everybody again πŸ—Ώ so the lies were never ever be reveal πŸ˜‚

Well that was nice finale soo basically the ending song was always the part of final episode lol
This one is definitely hidden gem for me this season 8/10 easily

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

WTH JUST HAPPENED??? Did Rikka just reset time and the morning started from the bottom where they didn't divulge their secret? This means that they will just repeat the same mistakes over and over, unless one of them has the memories intact! And I'm surprised that there are only 11 episodes. I didn't like how only Rikka and Tsubasa divulged their lie, while the other 2 kept it for themselves. I guess circumstances made them SHOW their lie in the end.

Wow, this was a fun ride with loads of twists and turns. Compared to most of the garbage isekai that were airing this season, this was one of the better anime of the season. Can't say I will miss it too much but I liked it per total.

Overall Score: 7/10. Sayonara, 4 Liars! :)

F*CK YES, this is exactly what I wanted Jitsua Watashi Wa to be. Excellent.
The show is good, not spectacular but really fun and if you are thinking of watching the Jitsua Watashi Wa, please just watch this instead and save yourself some trouble.

This was a fun & chill anime to watch. I expected another on the caliber of Asobi Asobase, but this'll do :3

10:15 >"Could she be... one of my people?" - Yousuke Shibazaki aka Uncle ("Isekai Uncle")

Welp, this might not have been the best comedy ever, but i think i'm gonna miss it more than any of the other series of this season.

(Though i wish the fortune teller lady had some more screentime, just like the english teacher did)

(Which reminds me: we never got to see his wife... assuming she even exists)

Just Kiss Already! • 1 year ago

When time started repeating I got nervous about another "endless eight" for a moment.

It's supposed to have 12. I haven't watched it but it's supposed to get one more next week

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

Whoever told u it was supposed to have 12 episode, it was a lie. Because, this anime is all about the little lies they tell XD

Satoshi Ookami • 1 year ago

Nope, this is the last one.

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

whoever said that must have been watching the serries and thought it would be a hilarious joke to pull one over you

Maybe. If it's worth a watch maybe I'll watch today

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

if you haven't watched it already then what exactly are you doing on episode 11 of the serries

Ep 12 will be released on disc. Garuntee

Hannah Ganio • 1 year ago

Somehow, those girls knew that something is not right about Tsubasa. They won't hug her, they were keeping some boundaries, a certain distance.

4-nin is brought to you by Studio Flad, the studio best known for Banished Hero. We've had a ton of comedy over the course of 2022. For every SpyXFamily, Priconne S2, and Isekai Ojisan, we've got a Teppen, Kono Healer, and sadly, this show.

Comedy's subjective and all, but compared to Asobi Asobase or Wasteful Days of Highschool Girls (AKA Joshikousei no Mudazukai), the comedy's not funny nor are the characters memorable. Asobi Asobase's a success BECAUSE of the comedy and Joshikousei stands out because of the interactions of the three leads, Baka, Robo, and Wota. The animation is nothing to write home about, the world is mostly lifeless as it's just our 4 leads with the occasional extra character or two.
Heck our 4 leads don't even feel like best friends, they feel like just 4 people playing a game of BS to see who can tell the biggest lie without getting caught. Doesn't help considering Rikka's an alien and it's established she can manipulate memories. Much like the alchemy anime, Management of a Novice Alchemist, there's better CGDCT anime in the form of Do It Yourself and Bocchi the Rock. And for comedy, we have Isekai Ojisan, SpyXFamily, and Futoku no Guild, which is basically a lewd Konosuba.

Overall, I'd skip this. There's better comedy anime and CGDCT anime out there.
Final Verdict: 5/10

Golb89 • 1 year ago

Well, but this one had BOTH of those, and despite some (ok, maybe a lot of) overabuse of BS stuff and plotholes it still managed to deliver imo, to the point i'll might actually miss this series unlike most of the others you mentioned.

Final Verdict: 7/10, and title of "Most Underrated/Overlooked Series of the Season".

(Which is basically the average between your score and everyone else's here)

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Yeah, no. If we're talking most overlooked series this season, it's easily Human Bug Daigaku by a long shot. And also Kokyuu no Kurasu at a close second.
"The average between your score and everyone else's here". You realize the only other person who gave this a score was Chosen, and he gave it an 8, right? Whereas I gave this a 5.
And frankly, like I said, if I want a CGDCT anime worth my time, there's Do It Yourself and Bocchi the Rock. And there's also Asobi Asobase and Joshikousei no Mudazukai in terms of comedy.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

I'm here as well bro and I haven't the time to do my review other than do just the rating. So please notice me bro

Golb89 • 1 year ago

And as i said, this one has both of those (though i guess it DOES have less of each to compensate...)

Also, Andrie Archews gave it a 9, and there are all those who expressed positive comments but didn't cast umerical votes as well.

Finally, "Human Bug" had roughly twice as much comments than this, and the other one you mentioned even more.

On another note: dunno where you took your new profile pic from, but apparently "WataTen" movie is upcoming so...

[Addendum]

Almost forgot: merry X-mas!

(Maybe, depending on your timezone)
